Description

Our Client is a leading national construction company with over 40 years’ experience delivering leading-edge construction solutions across a range of key sectors including Data Centres, Industrial, Defence, Retail, Education, Residential and Health. They are seeking a Commercial Manager to be based near London.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for –

  • Ensuring compliance with contract obligations and provide advice and monitoring of same to construction team
  • An ability to identify potential commercial risks and ensuring prompt reporting of same to management
  • Compiling monthly progress applications and ensuring they are inclusive of accurate re-measure, site variations, day works or claims
  • Procurement – operational procurement activity and contract support, in conjunction with the Procurement Department
  • Managing subcontractor accounts from initial award to interim valuation, variations and final account.
  • Managing and forecasting of turnover and cash flow of the projects
  • Reviewing and commercial management of all projects, to ensure accurate and reliable reporting
  • Identifying, analysing and reporting on trends within the Business & Projects
  • Providing data and analysis of issues & risks as required by Management
  • Improving and implementing best practice commercial processes and accurate budgeting
  • Ensuring compliance with Contract Programme /Schedule and providing weekly reports to construction team on planned versus actual progress
  • Reviewing all incoming correspondence from Employers, Design Team and /or subcontractors, to identify contractually critical items and to initiate replies
  • Ensuring the Construction Team is adhering to all Contractual Requirements and providing advice and monitoring of same
  • Ensuring reporting is in line with Group Policies & highlight exceptions to Management

You will need –

  • A relevant third level qualification essential in Quantity Surveying
  • Over 10 years’ experience post qualification with a Tier 1 organisation
  • Experience with Data Centres advantageous
  • An ability to work both individually and as part of a team
