Description

Our client is a programme management and project management consultancy supporting their clients with construction management, for their projects and programmes. They are currently seeking a Cost Engineer, ranging from junior level to senior,  to be based out of their South West of England Offices.

The role will be to estimate the financial cost of projects. Analyse and report the costs and requirements of the project, which they will then identify to the client.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Controlling and monitoring the cost related aspects of the projects
  • Ensure the cost management tool Implemented is the correct tool for the project
  • Ensure that costs ad contract transactions are all handled correctly
  • Support the planning process with the client
  • Understand the reasons influencing change
  • Continuous monitoring of the project risk and change statuses
  • Communicate with both the project teams and contractors to understand and aid in the financial forecasting
  • Update cost tools
  • Communication with the planning engineer in order to ensure alignment of the project and costs are correct
  • Support the project manager in progress meetings

You will have:

  • HNC/ HND in a cost discipline or similar
  • Understanding of relevant HSE legislation
  • Strong engineering background
  • Awareness of interaction of which the role requires
  • Good time management skills
  • Working knowledge and understanding of estimating, programming, scheduling and risk tools
  • Reconcile cost information applicable to the project
