EHS Lead

Our client is a leading multinational engineering services provider and general contractor, employing over 2,000 people. They deliver cutting-edge construction solutions across sectors including Data Centres, Healthcare, Life Sciences, Technology, and Building Services. They are currently seeking an EHS Lead to join their major Data Centre project in the Netherlands.

You will be responsible for:

• Developing, implementing, and managing the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs on site to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.

• Leading safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.

• Promoting a strong safety culture among all site personnel, subcontractors, and visitors through training, toolbox talks, and continuous engagement.

• Investigating incidents and near-misses, preparing detailed reports, and driving root cause analysis and corrective measures.

• Coordinating with project management and site teams to integrate EHS requirements into daily operations and project planning.

• Ensuring all safety documentation, permits, and records are maintained accurately and up to date.

• Staying current with industry best practices, legislation changes, and emerging safety technologies to continuously improve site EHS performance.

• Acting as the primary point of contact for EHS matters with clients, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders.

You will need:

• Proven experience (typically 5+ years) as an EHS professional on large construction or engineering projects, preferably in Data Centres or related sectors.

• In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations and standards relevant to Europe.

• Strong skills in risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety program development.

• Excellent communication and leadership abilities to influence all levels of the workforce.

• Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is highly desirable.

• Ability to work proactively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
