Description

Our client is a global construction company who has been operating in the Middle East for over 50 years. During this time that have delivered some of the largest projects in the world, over multiple sectors, including Hospitality & Tourism, Oil & Gas, and Real Estate. They are currently looking for a Commercial Manager to join them on a project in the UAE.

 

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Manage all commercial aspects of the project, including cost control, contract administration, and financial reporting, to ensure delivery within budget and in line with contractual obligations.
  • Oversee procurement strategies, working with buyers and project teams to secure subcontractors, materials, and services at best value while maintaining quality and programme requirements.
  • Administer main and subcontractor contracts, including managing variations, claims, payment applications, and change control processes.
  • Monitor and report on project costs, forecasts, and cash flow, ensuring financial risks are identified early and mitigation strategies are in place.
  • Lead commercial negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to protect the company's commercial position and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Support the project team in identifying and managing project risks and opportunities, including value engineering and commercial optimisation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance, contractual frameworks, and regulatory standards, particularly for large-scale or multinational residential, commercial & mixed-use developments.
  • Prepare and present monthly commercial reports to senior management, including cost value reconciliations (CVRs), project valuations, and final account settlements.

 

You will need:

  • A Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
  • At least 10-15 years’ experience in QS / Commercial Management on a broad range of complex construction projects with Tier 1 organisations.
  • A broad range of project experience in successfully delivering the complete Contracts / Commercial function over the full project life-cycle.
  • Dual Qualification in Construction Law / Claims / Dispute Resolution would be an advantage.
  • Experience of managing a team of commercial / contracts staff.
  • Residency or Right to Work in the UAE.
