Description

Our client is a leading multinational engineering services provider and general contractor who employ over 2,000 and deliver leading-edge construction solutions across a range of key sectors including Data Centres, Healthcare, Life Sciences and Technology, Fire protection, Building Services, and Technical Support Services. They are currently looking for MEP Design Managers to join them on Data Centre projects in various European locations.

 

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Lead and coordinate all MEP design activities, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of design packages in line with project specifications, client expectations, and construction milestones.
  • Act as the primary interface between architects, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure fully coordinated and clash-free MEP designs throughout all phases.
  • Manage the flow of technical information, ensuring prompt issuance and distribution of MEP drawings, specifications, revisions, and updates to support site execution and avoid programme delays.
  • Chair and drive MEP-focused design coordination meetings, resolving design queries efficiently and ensuring alignment between design intent and construction strategy.
  • Review and approve MEP submittals, shop drawings, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with design intent, project standards, and integration across all systems.
  • Control and track design changes, evaluating their impact on cost, schedule, and constructability, and clearly communicating updates to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure all MEP systems are designed in full compliance with local building codes, EU standards, and data centre-specific performance, scalability, and redundancy requirements.
  • Oversee the handover of MEP design documentation, including as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and close-out records, supporting a seamless transition to commissioning and operations.

 

You will need:

  • A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years’ experience in design management or coordination, with a strong background in MEP systems on mission-critical projects (preferably data centres or high-tech facilities).
  • Proven expertise in managing coordinated MEP designs, resolving clashes, and overseeing design-to-installation workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of European building codes, data centre compliance standards, and best practices for scalability, redundancy, and resilience.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD, and document control platforms (e.g., BIM 360, Aconex, Procore).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to lead design coordination across multiple disciplines.
